Fressnapf celebrates 15 years

With an international pressconference on March 9, 2005 in Vienna (Austria) the European franchise-chain Fressnapf, with headquarters in Germany, started the celebrations of its 15th anniversary. Today this retail chain is active in 8 European countries, with a total of over 650 shops, of which over 525 in Germany.
At this press conference in Vienna, Torsten Toeller (Founder and CEO Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH), Heidi Obermeier (CEO Fressnapf Handels GmbH Austria) and Axel Henschke (marketing director Fressnapf Tiernahrungs GmbH) entfolded the achievements and future plans of the company.
Plans are there to open shops in Italy in 2005 and in Spain in 2006. In general Fressnapf foresees that in 5 years from now 50% of the total turnover will come out of Germany, and 50% out of other countries.
Toeller expects that Fressnapf will have around 800 shops in 2007.

WWPSA and ZZF announce partnership

World Wide Pet Supply Association, Inc. of Arcadia, California, the professional association that produces SuperZoo and America’s Family Pet Expo, and the German Pet Trade & Industry Association ZZF with their subsidiary company Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF), that produces INTERZOO, are formulating plans to work cooperatively for the betterment of the pet industry.
WZF GmbH and WWPSA agreed to become promotional partners and to support each other in public relations for their respective trade shows.
Both the representatives of ZZF and WWPSA were very pleased with the outcome of their discussions. “This partnership is a good opportunity to sound out the interests of the industry in the respective countries.

Savic received Award from Pets at Home

On the annual suppliers meeting of the UK retail chain Pets At Home, held on February 24, 2005 in Chester (UK) the Belgian manufacturer Savic has been rewarded with the award of "Best Overall Supplier".
